In an instant, a thick fabric sack was dropped over her eyes. Her hands were roughly tied with rope. Strong hands carried her through the draped doorway and laid her on a table. The blindfold was removed. The room was pitch black.

"Now, what is it you came for?" asked the voice in the darkness.

Maggie held her wrists, which had been rubbed raw by the ropes that bound them. She tried not to look around the room, but instead tried to focus on her ostensible purpose at the voodoo parlor.
